Make Room for Your Creativity

Make Room for Your Creativity

Some days, creativity looks like a page full of words. Other days, it looks like moving a plant towards the light, trying something different in the kitchen, or making something with your hands simply because you feel like it.

We can become so concerned with being good at something that we forget to enjoy discovering it. Before we even begin, we want to know whether the result will be useful, impressive or worth sharing. That is a lot to ask of an afternoon with a notebook.

In my own life, writing and making give me somewhere to put what I cannot always explain. A sentence takes shape. A colour catches my attention. For a little while, I am absorbed in what is in front of me, and that feels good.

This is part of what Find Your Zen means to me: making room for curiosity, expression and the pleasure of creating something without rushing to judge it.

Leave a little space this week for whatever interests you. Pick up the pen, rearrange the flowers, try the idea you keep putting off. You can decide what it means later.

For now, let yourself begin.
